DKNY Red Delicious Men by Donna Karan was launched in 2006 together with the feminine version. It has the usual apple-shaped bottle of the Delicious perfume line, and with a silver-plated upper part.

In the opening the notes are hard to single out, except for a soft feeling of caramel, wrapped in red fruits. This opening reminds of the one in Fendi perfume Palazzo, but in this case the caramel is softer. There are also traces of a sweet and aromatic mandarin. All in all the start is quite fruity, although it does not feel like a fruit cocktail. In the middle phase, mandarin is the dominant note, but it gradually takes a liquorish aroma, similar to a vanilla-based cream. This should not come as a surprise, since among the official notes for this perfume we can find cognac, rum, apple-flavored liqueur, vodka and vanilla. In this phase there are also soft spicy notes of cardamom and sandalwood. In the final phase, the vanilla liquorish aroma is still there, but it is mixed with earthy notes of vetiver and again sandalwood.

The opening of this DKNY Red Delicious Men is pleasant, sweet, and somehow unisex, although it evolves from a sweet fruity to a dry woody aroma. It is suitable for an everyday use, both in the summer and in the winter. In an office environment it feels neutral, meaning that it is pleasant to the nose but without a social attitude. For a night use, it is perhaps not intense enough (except for the opening), but on the romantic side the fruity notes can be effective. The ideal age range to wear it goes from 25 to 45 years.

These are combined together to make a scent that is truly magnificent, sophisticated and subtle. At first spray, the fragrance will come off as being very light, airy and woody. This is all a result of the combination of the different base notes. Despite some sweet ingredients, the perfume never comes off smelling that way. It has more of a light and powdery feel to it. People often describe it as being touched by a soft and fine fabric, while at the same time giving off that essence of wanting to snuggle. This is a good description of the perfume as it is very close to its name.

People who smell this scent will be drawn to its powdery and clean overtones, while at the same time make them want to cuddle with the wearer. The fragrance does not have an overpowering scent and it really adds to a woman's femininity, while at the same time giving her a sense of sophistication.

Greetings from Asheville, where good music is always found on the turntable, in the CD player, or in the MP3 player. Today's Classic Album Review remembers the album Shame On Me from Donna Fargo. Though she had been active in the music business since the 1960's, it wasn't until 1972 that Donna first hit paydirt, as "The Happiest Girl In The Whole U. S. A.", then "Funny Face" would top the Country charts, while climbing well up the Pop charts, also. By the end of the decade, Donna would rank as the fifth most successfulCountry female vocalist for the decade, and was also considered a stellar songwriter, as well. Released in October, 1977, Shame On Me was Donna's third release for Warner Brothers, after having released six albums with Dot and ABC/Dot. By this time, Donna's album sales had waned a bit, but was still able to crack the Country albums top twenty, peaking at eighteen. The album had four singles, including three top tens, as well as her final number one hit.
Donna Summer Photos
The title cut was the album's second single, climbing the charts in the Fall of 1977. "Shame On Me" was Bobby Bare's first Country hit, back in 1962. Both versions feature smoother, pop-infused arrangements, but Donna's is less brassy. It's a quality version that compares well with the original, in fact, if I had to choose between the two, I'm really not sure I could say one is better.
Donna Summer Photos
Ragamuffin Man would be the album's final single, during the Summer of 1978, when it would peak at nineteen. Mid tempo, seemingly written more as a children's song. Cute song, but not anything spectacular.
Donna Summer Photos
Loving You was originally the flip side of Elvis' "Teddy Bear". Here, Donna used it as a tribute to the recently deceased legend, including a narration that she wrote about the King that may well cover how many felt. Credit to Donna Fargo for avoiding going into sap with her narration.
Donna Summer Photos
Next, it's a cover of the Turtles' classic "Happy Together", which unfortunately, comes off rather bland and too lush, especially towards the end, but that was the sound of the times.
Donna Summer Photos
Side one ends with the album's third single, "Do I Love You (Yes In Every Way)". A slow ballad that contrasts from a tender touch of the verses to the belting of the refrain, yet without losing any of the intimacy or sensitivity of the composition. Here, the slick arrangement is more of an asset, as well. I've always thought this to be a great record, certainly one of her best.
Donna Summer Photos
Side two opens with Donna's take on the Paul Simon song "Gone At Last". A song with a strong Gospel feel to it, I actually like her version of this song as well as any I've heard, including the original, as well as a version by Johnny Paycheck. The tempo switching, while maintaining the quick pace, makes for an especially interesting listen.
Donna Summer Photos
That Was Yesterday hit the market as a single in the Spring of 1977. A recitation of one who is deeply in love with someone but realizes that it can never be, but wonders what might have happened had they tried. It would become Donna's sixth and final number one single. Not bad, but a little too far on the syrupy side for me, though I know people who just loved this song.
Donna Summer Photos
Dee Dee is a song that falls into that range of just being there. You hear it and while you don't necessarily think it's bad, at the same time, it's not one that likely grabs your attention, either. It's just there.

After a spring summer filled with gorgeous blues, whites and peaches the new autumnal Prima Donna will soon be on its way. The collection is filled with rich warm colours that have developed from the strong presence of reds and purples from 09 to more muted soft tones.
Donna Summer Photos
The collection combines some re-colourings as well as new designs. The hugely popular Alexandrie from the spring summer collection has been brought out in a chocolate with subtle orange accents. It works well with the delicate floral embroidery and is really shown off the unique double spaghetti strap which proved some popular in the summer. The Atlantis is the other range that has benefited from a re-colouring. The paisley kasmir motif looks particularly eye catching in the ice grey and I think it is more eye-catching than any of the previous colours from last winter. The embroidery looks striking against the sheer tulle.
Donna Summer Photos
As beautiful as the re-colouring are they just don't elicit the same anticipation as the new ranges. There are three new ranges with something for every Prima Donna fan. The Copenhagen is a timeless classic in a transparent tulle with subtle colour accented embroidery. It is available in the traditional full cup, balcony and even a smooth cup shaper. More and more of the ranges are featuring the popular shaper bra and with this range coming in black, white and grey it is a great alternative to the satin shaper bra.

If you prefer a little more colour in your winter wardrobe the Stockholm is a good place to start. With the choice of red, black with cerise embroider of the ocean blue it's difficult to choose between them. Red will undoubtedly do well over the Christmas period but I think the black is my favourite because of the contrast in the embroidery. The pretty cerise floral embroidery really pops against the sheer black tulle. The range features the stunning tulip cut balcony bra. This is a contemporary cut and has proven to be very popular with the Plums Lingerie customers, it was first seen last winter in the Prima Donna Oz and is now making an appearance in more and more ranges.

Every season there is a collection that is their seasonal special, it's the series that takes your breath away, combining beautiful design with the most gorgeous colours. This winter that title is held by the Helsinki. It so amazingly glamorous and uses a new technique giving the embroidery a semblance of a shadow effect. It's the range that has the luxury balcony bra with vertical seaming to give a lower cut while still giving the perfect amount of support. I already have my eye on the basque however this season it only goes up to the F cup. This is a tad disappointing but the bra does go all the way to the 44H. The Helsinki epitomises the muted tones that define this autumn winter. The strong purples from last year have been replaced with a softer midnight violet and the ocean blue as seen in the Stockholm is echoed in the empire green.
Donna Summer Photos
The ranges from Prima Donna this season are as strong as ever but it is disappointing that none of the ranges have a suspender belt included. I expect that the Stockholm will do exceptionally well with the black proving to be the most popular but will probably have something to do with it being my favourite. The Stockholm will surely feature on quite a few lists to Santa so ladies it's time to make sure you've been a good girl.
